EQUIPMENT: “Cranium” Game and the Oasis Team
LOCATION: step outside the usual work place to a beautiful mountain top in Austria…many possibilities not hard to find, not very far away.
GAME: we used the game Cranium as a building block for our weekend. This game draws on different activities such as drawing, singing, clay forming, and trivia questions. We not only played the game, we also created a new version. We broke up into 2 teams and created new questions similar to the format of the original game. Our created questions were all based on the biblical book of Colossians. Then after a couple hours of creating questions as 2 teams, we played the game together.
WORD OF GOD: We used the book of Colossians not only for the game, we used it also for our worship times, and as a devotional for our celebration of the Lord’s Supper.
EATING TOGETHER: three meals a day, plus snacks, birthday snacks, other snacks, and even some late night snacks.
WORSHIP AND PRAYER TOGETHER: Although playing a game has a different feel than “worship time”, the worship time and game time were nicely knitted together with the book of Colossians.
RESULT: team building through playing together, creating together, eating together, worship together, celebrating the Lord’s Supper together, learning the Word of God together.
THE WINNER? Dan’s Team, not the team that had Daniel AND Dan :) .
