Celebrate!

Carol and all the Oasis Team are celebrating with all their might before God, with songs and with harps, lyres, timbrels, cymbals and trumpets (and maybe even a dance or two).

We've caught a wonderful glimpse into the Lord's hand at work among us in the lives of refugees during the past few days. Seven men and women from Afghanistan and Iran were baptized at a local church here on Sunday, each one telling their own story of coming to Jesus with obvious joy and often with tears in their eyes. Many others taking part in the service were former refugees, some of whom had been at the Oasis years ago. To see them, how they've grown in the Lord over the years and how they are now reaching out to others, was probably the most moving and encouraging part of the time to me.

We were still remembering and praising God for all we'd experienced on Sunday, when late Tuesday morning we received word that a dear Afghan friend and brother had received asylum and can stay in Austria. He will be able to send for his wife and two children, whom he hasn't seen in two or three years. Two years ago the possibility of him being able to stay here in Austria looked hopeless. Again I have seen in a very tangible way that what seems impossible to me is always very possible to God.

Join us in our processional train of thanks to God. But don't just stop here, for you, too, probably have your own praises to add in this Easter season.
