FAFF was a minor when he came to the Oasis four years ago. He
was quite a man from a Muslim background.
At the Oasis he was always around listening and taking it all in. At the
end of a program he was the first to take the bucket to clean the oasis floor. He stayed in the camp for a long time and
then one day was transferred 2 hours away from us. Shortly after that he called me and said :”
I have become a true follower of Jesus”.
Shortly after that he was deported back to his home land. Within days of
arriving his father found a bible in his back pack, actually it fell out on the
ground. His father and other men in the
family did not ask why, or what it meant.
They beat him mercilessly.
Within days, his kind mom provided the money and got him out of the
village and return to Austria
. We at Oasis did not even know he was deported until one day he came to our
door, ragged, very thin, and exhausted and standing there said: “ you are the
only family I have” .
He stayed locally in Vienna
for a few months and we prayed for mercy in the asylum case. The Lord provided for him to stay in Austria . He was
transferred to a refugee house 2 hours away, where we know faithful Christian
workers who could minister to him. They ministered to him as spiritual parents
and new earthly parents. He became part
of an Austrian church and what a glorious day it was when was baptized here in Austria . He
received a one year visa, and now it is extended. He has a good job, and is connected with others
of his country in fellowship. He called
me today to say : ”I will never forget you all, I have vacation in 2 weeks , I
will come and see you.” Will Thomas be
there?
We praise God that he
lives near faithful Christians who mentor him and who have FAFF involved in the
ministry to refugees. Now in chapter 2 or 3, what will become of FAFF? God his Father has a plan . The Story is being written by a loving
Father.
Pray for FAFF to grow strong, bold and brave as he shares with other
refugees.
