He had been planning to go back to his country of Ministry last Friday. However recent shootings and word from friends in country have forced He to delay his return date.

Which was good for us as it meant he could come and visit us at the Oasis and tell us more about his experiences in a Islamic land.

He talked about one family churches, Believers who heard the truth from listening to a portable radio. About the taxi divers estimates about how many believers are in the capital - stories of being asked if he was a Muslim while laying between Mr Richards and the questioner was a loaded Kalashnikov.

I have felt in the past that He had an amazing story of giving up the security of his land, giving up a fiancée to follow God.

But yesterday I didn't feel that. Yesterday I really did feel that it was God that was working so much in this Islamic land, and that He had just been privileged to be used by God and had been obedient to God and his word so had been a witness to the fruit of the gospel message.

It is tough to be a Believer in an Islamic land, and some of He friends are paying the price for their beliefs, but Hallelujah God has not left this country without his witness. Pray for the believers of this land, that they will stay strong in Christ despite the chance of persecution, imprisonment and even death. Pray for the Government that they may come to see the Grace and the forgiveness that is found in Christ. And pray for us in the West as we read and see images of the persecuted church that we will remember what God has done for us, by dying on the cross and that this will make us pray for other believers in the world and for their tormentors.
