DOC and ONE
Maybe it was because there is an important Islamic celebration this week... Many refugees we meet come from Islamic background and participate in some of the major Islamic celebrations at a nearby Muslim center. Maybe many of the guys had gone to that meeting...
Maybe God wanted the bible study to be for ONE…
Tuesday nights at the Oasis, a man has been coming to the Oasis for more than a year to do a bible study in Farsi, which is the language many of the refugees speak that we see. For this blog, I will call the bible study leader DOC. The number of refugees coming to this bible study has ranged from 4 to more than 20. For the bible study this past Tuesday, there was DOC and ONE refugee.
DOC said that no one was at the Oasis for the first 15 minutes of what was supposed to be the bible study time. DOC said he almost left, but then the ONE refugee showed up. This ONE refugee had shown interest before in knowing who Jesus is. So DOC stayed and for almost 2 hours, this ONE refugee and DOC had conversations. This ONE refugee had many questions which he probably would have felt reserved about asking if other refugees had been there.
Refugees from Afghanistan and Iran still can be persecuted or their families persecuted for them being involved with Christianity in Austria. For this past Tuesday night, this ONE refugee was blessed by God with a time to ask questions freely, without worry of persecution from his peers nor persecution for his family back home, in case one of his peers here decided to report his interest in Jesus.
This bible study was meant for many, but DOC was only able to share it with ONE. But by faith, I am confident that God PREPARED this bible study through DOC for the ONE refugee.

Luke 15: 3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders
