A choice of Life and death

His questions seemed genuine. He had already taken a book on Christianity during clothing room, before coming back a week later to ask for a Somali New Testament. M. spoke pretty good English and he told me that on his way to Austria that he had seen the Jesus film in Greece and that the words of Jesus had interested him. Since M. walked into the Oasis a month ago he has been a pretty regular in coming to the Oasis whenever it was open. Our conversations have always come to the point that 'it is too dangerous' for him to become a follower Jesus. My counter argument to this has been that  if you know Jesus is write in what he says, you need to choose him before you are judged by him. Or to be a follower of Jesus you do not need to give up your nationality, dress or culture. What needs to change is what is in your heart and to who you pray too.  But coming from the West, where you are free to choose or change your religion he and I knew that I could not know how it feels to come to a point where you are considering making a decision that could cause you to be ostracised by your community or worst. M. had seen the websites  showing decapitated heads of Muslims who had converted to Christianity.
M. does have a real fear what will happen to him if he was to become a follower of Jesus. The Oasis is full of former Muslims who are now Christians. I thought it would help if M. heard from one of these men, on how they came to the point despite the dangers to come to Christ. Normally these men are speaking to Afghans so I have no Idea what they are saying..... but with M.  were the conversation had to be in English I could hear  this Afghan Evangelist share about his own life, how he came to be convicted to the truth of Jesus, how his family reacted to his conversion, the risks and death threats he continues to receive in Austria. But he added that Jesus loves you and that he will protect you if you are one of his followers.
When the Afghan man left - M. said to me 'wow he makes some good points.'
I gave M. a full Bible and told him a bible story to read. Pray for M. prayer that in Christ that he can get over his fear and that he will follow his heart, follow what he knows is right.
