HOW important are videos in the ministry of Thursday Night Coffee bar?
The videos of Jesus life and that of Abraham and Joseph along
with others that share true faith are used often in 3 or 4 rooms during a coffee
bar evening. I would like to share with you a response from just last
Thursday night.
After a viewing of Part ll of the life of Abraham in our
upper room, a group of Afghan men came to me and asked a question: “Was it not
Ishmael that was to be sacrificed by Abraham, why does the video show that it
was Isaac”? WE love these questions! How thankful I was that we had an
Iranian brother helping us that could open the Farsi bible and show the group
just where it says it is the son of the promise, Isaac that Abraham placed on
the alter. Questions like this open doors for more conversation. I then
opened the Farsi Bible to Rev. 22:18 -19 the last part of the last chapter Rev.
and Jesus words were read: ”I warn anyone who hears the words of this
prophecy of this book: if anyone adds ….. or takes away from the Words of this
book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in
the holy city, which is described in this book.” Being their book was
written hundreds of years later, they fully understood the meaning, i.e, it was
Isaac who was the son of the Promise. One of the men asked if he could come
and chat again, he seemed to be a teacher he spoke many languages. We have an
appointment this coming Thursday. As you read this would you please pray that
the distractions of the evil one would not hinder him in coming 4:00 this
Thursday before our next coffee bar.
