Our family was humbled when God gave us the opportunity to come back to the Oasis and serve for another two weeks. He allowed every door to be opened so we knew it was His plan for us to be there… we tried to come last year but so many doors closed that we knew it wasn’t His plan for us to go yet. So we knew we had to patient, we had to wait for His timing and He would provide this opportunity when it was the right time. This time has been different… each of us had so many opportunities to share our faith to family, friends, co-workers, neighbors because everyone wanted to know why we would go back for a second time. It was exciting that we were able to evangelize more to the people around us now then we have ever had the opportunity to do and we weren’t even in Austria yet!
Then the most amazing opportunity God planned for us was in the midst of the most chaotic part of our trip. Both of our kids had medical emergencies and had to be taken to the children’s hospital. Throughout the whole time we knew God was growing us and expanding our trust in Him. Little did we realize He would add an opportunity for us to share our faith and about the Oasis to the physician and nurse that was taking care of our daughter. My daughter and I spent the night and once we received her discharge instructions the next morning the doctor and nurse came back to her room and asked us what religion we were, what church would send us Austria, why does the Oasis exist, and why in the world would we give up our Holiday to spend serving at the Oasis. We were amazed that this conversation was even occurring!
Our family simply thought we were just coming back to Austria to serve at the Oasis… little did we realize God would set in place so many amazing opportunities to share our faith before the trip, during the hospital visit, to the people at the Pension, and to the refugees at the Oasis. His plans we so much bigger than what we could have ever imagined!
Again we are humbled as a family that God used us in such a way and provided us the opportunity to see His work in action… and we are forever Thankful to the Oasis team for their LOVE, Support, Patience, and Help!
