With fewer full time Oasis Staff, we are transitioning
towards depending more on volunteers.
This is both a challenge and an excellent opportunity. For the past several years many have come to
serve at the Oasis as volunteers. While
not all volunteers have been able to serve at the Oasis every week, the mix of
full time staff and always “some” volunteers, has supplied each Oasis ministry
with servants ready to serve the world refugees that come through our doors. The challenge to us, the Oasis full time
staff, is to more effectively coordinate the volunteers in order to cover all
the jobs before, during, after, and in between the Oasis ministries.
In the near future we will be looking more closely at the
various ministries and the volunteers at these ministries. This is an excellent opportunity for us, to
challenge the volunteers and perhaps find more volunteers. Each ministry time has jobs that need to be filled. Each ministry has volunteers who can cover
the various jobs. The Oasis Staff will
be looking to maximize the opportunities the volunteers are ready and willing
to take. It is also quite possible, this
is another excellent opportunity to bring in new volunteers who are also ready
and willing to take on specific jobs at the Oasis. Lord willing, these efforts could support not
only the coordination of present ministry events, but also allow us to increase
how many events we offer during the week at the Oasis.
Please JOIN the Oasis Staff in prayer, as we seek to fill
various roles at the Oasis.
Pray that we and the volunteers see how we can best fill the
many jobs at the Oasis.
Pray that God also provides more volunteers so that His name
will be glorified more through the Oasis.
