one new believer sharing with a fellow refugee...

Back in 2015, a young man that I will refer to as Michael (from Iran) visited The Oasis once. It was just once, and it was not an immediate, life-changing visit. BUT one of his friends, who I will call Ali, visited The Oasis several times AND took the big step to start praying to Jesus. He soon repented of his sin, and placed his faith in Jesus alone. As for Michael, he was still  Muslim, but he stayed in touch with Ali. A week after Michael visited The Oasis that one time, Austria transferred him to a small town near Graz. Then, months later, to a small town near Salzburg. Then, a year later, to the capital city, Vienna (where I, Ken, live). I had not met Michael, BUT all along the way, he was hearing more and more about Jesus from his friend Ali! I only heard about his story just recently, because next Sunday, we will be having a baptism at our church in Vienna for Michael! Yes, after hearing all about Jesus from a fellow refugee friend, Michael was inspired to learn more about Jesus himself! He visited a coffee hour in Vienna where the locals can help refugees practice their German, and thankfully a young lady from our church was going there to help out. She got to know Michael and offered him a Bible, at which point he told her all about his friend Ali, who had been telling him so much about Jesus. Needless to say, he gratefully accepted the Bible, started reading it, and came to know Jesus personally. That was earlier this summer, and he has been attending church ever since. We rejoice in his upcoming baptism this Sunday. Pray for his further discipleship and growth in the Lord.

We rejoice that the Lord is moving in the hearts of refugees to pass on what they have learned about Jesus; it is truly inspiring to learn of cases such as this one, especially since this all developed well after either Ali or Michael were in direct contact with us at The Oasis!   Thank you so much for your support in prayer, Ken
