Mr Richard

Today during out team meeting Mr Richard came at shared with about his Ministry in an Islamic country.

Mr Richard came to Austria in 2001 as a Muslim refugee. But in Austria he came across believers from his country and after awhile he also became a follower of Jesus the Messiah. It was while watching CNN at the house of a fellow believer that Mr Richard saw the work of an American mission organisation and decided to pray that God would send workers to this land.

Well the truth was that the Missionaries in this land had been kidnapped, and the captives had shown a copy of the bible that the Missionaries had been using - too the camera. This was the same bible that Mr Richards had just been reading with his believing friends. Well several years later Mr Richards left Austria to go and join the team as a Missionary to this country that he started to pray for on CNN.

I think that is our major goal of the Oasis team in Austria. To disciple and train refugee believers so that they then can go to their own people and share the good news of the gospel. It was a real encouragement for the team to hear the boldness and passion for this former refugee to minister to the people of this Islamic country - and that there is a Christian community in this country, in a country and a culture that we in the west would think it would be near impossible for someone to be able to be a Christian.
