A year ago on a Kids Clothing Day, we usually ran and ran from 1:30 to 7:00 to give clothes to sometimes as many as 150 kids. In order to help so many Families, we had self-imposed rules to help us give as much as we could. This week we got to do something different.
The number of people who came for clothes for their kids was much smaller—maybe 50 on Monday. Because of this, we praise God that we got to spend MORE TIME WITH MORE PEOPLE!
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (I Thessalonians 5:16-18). We choose to praise the Lord in all circumstances and look for the best way to bring honor to His name. Whether small numbers or big, we praise Him and serve in the name of Jesus.
In the main room where people waited before AND after they received clothes for their kids, there was a peaceful atmosphere. Thus, MORE TIME for conversations with MORE PEOPLE. In the clothing room, we got to spend MORE TIME helping MORE FAMILIES find what they really needed for their children.
If the next Kids Clothing Day jumps back up to a large number, we will continue to praise the name of Jesus in that circumstance and our intent for serving will remain the same: Sharing the love of Jesus so that many will come to salvation in Him, to the glory of God the Father!
