WORLD REFUGEE DAY June 20

World Refugee Day is June 20 EVERY YEAR! At the Oasis, we celebrate World Refugee Day EVERY DAY. We want the refugees to know what they are not forgotten. For a special emphasis though, we did celebrate on Wednesday night June 16 during our Evangelistic evening. I was the MC for the evening and tried to encourage the refugees that the Oasis is a place where not only 7 serve full time, 3 serve part time, and 20-30 volunteers serve. The Oasis is also supported by individuals and churches (filled with individuals) all totaling over 15,000 people. 15,000+ people in one way or another help support the Oasis through prayers and financial support!! We want the refugees to know they are not forgotten!

And above all, we want to encourage the refugees that God cares about them and has not forgotten them.
It is our prayer that all “refugees” would be able to receive a “place” where they can live and freely learn about our Lord. We trust that God will answer according to His will.

On June 16, for our service, we had special guests with whom many of the refugees can identify. This family came to know Jesus in their home land, where Islam is the main religion. A man gave a testimony about how Jesus had changed his life in the middle of a Muslim country. We pray his testimony was felt by the refugees very personally, especially since he spoke the same language as many refugees that were present.

It is our desire that many, many more refugees come to have a relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We celebrated last week with the refugees. We celebrate this week with the refugees. We will continue to celebrate with the refugees that THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN. Our Lord is still SEEKING a relationship with them. Jesus continues to have GRACE to give! Praise the Lord!
