Dancing Clothing-Room Style

We often hear of tragedy and death, of separated families and pain, or of other sorrows, which at times break our hearts, but that we really can't understand because we haven't walked in the refugees' shoes. So to be able to share a bit of laughter and fun with them is not only a wonderful experience, but, also, an opportunity to see who they really are behind the veils of sadness and worry that often cover their faces.

And so it was on Monday in clothing room. A Chechen woman slipped on a skirt, which we'd helped her to find. We rejoiced together that it fit and then she broke out in dance - of the Chechen sort (of course). The three of us Oasis staff, as well as the other two Chechen woman present, broke out in laughter and a lightness of spirit, which I would call a holy moment because God revealed to me a little of who these women really are ... who He made them and intended them to be. It was a privilege to be there and experience it.

As I always say, clothing room is much more than giving out clothing.
