The Oasis – n. 1. a ministry center in Traiskirchen, Austria where refugees are welcomed, valued as people God dearly loves, treated with dignity and respect and offered the living water of Jesus Christ

An oasis brings to mind the image of a refreshing, welcoming spot, usually a warm place. While The Oasis refugee center tries its best to welcome and refresh folks, we are having a hard time with the “warm” part! The Oasis building is middle-aged now and in need of some repairs. It is hard to keep the building warm in the winter!
Recently a woman and her infant daughter, newly arrived in Austria came to the Oasis Clothing Room for the first time. Though uncertain of how things work and what to expect, she was made welcome and there received a lovely bag of needed baby clothes, diapers and toileteries. She even went home with a baby bassinette that happened to be available!
Every year thousands of refugees like this woman come through The Oasis door to receive a warm welcome, encouragement, practical items, and to hear about the God who loves them and the gift of life He gave through His Son, Jesus. We encourage you to consider giving a gift that will help The Oasis continue to reach out to refugees in this way.
Following are the most needful repairs:
-new furnace system
-new windows
-new entry door
-new concrete entry slab (at the buildling entrance)
Estimated cost of $120,000 (US). Replacing the furnace system and windows will make the building warmer and help to heat The Oasis more cost effectively. Thank you!
