There is no other bridge to the knowledge of God but Jesus

Here at the Oasis we seek always to “connect” refugees with truth, but sometimes they come with such hunger that it is so that we just need to fill the glass and hand them a cup of cold water.

Last night at the Oasis coffee bar, John, one of our 9 guest workers from Czech Republic, sat through the video of the Life of Jesus with an Iraqi man he just met Monday.

The man, we will call him Ali, came into the coffee bar looking a bit anxious, and not at all seeking just coffee or a game of chess as were the other 90 or so that came through the door. After greeting the man who he had met just this past Monday, he asked, “would you like to see the film of the life of Jesus in your language?” He eagerly accepted and for the next two hours they sat in a small back room alone, and John prayed as the man watched. When the film was over the Iraqi man shared that he had had a dream in which he saw Jesus and he knew he had to find out “who is this Jesus?”. He shared with John that was the reason he came to the Oasis is because he heard this was the place he can learn of this Jesus.

HE returned to the Oasis on the next day to talk to John and to view the video “More Than Dreams” (www.morethandreams.org) in his mother tongue of Arabic. We just received this video about Muslims receiving dreams about Jesus and coming to Christ. John shared the Gospel and he prayed to receive Jesus.

The next bridge is the connection we have with the Arabic church in Vienna. I called the pastor and he will soon come to visit with this man. The beauty of the grace of God is that just in this past month another man for Iraq who came to us with many questions about Jesus has also become a believer. Now they have each other in the camp, they have a safe house - The Oasis - where they can come and learn more, and they have an Arabic church where they can grow and fellowship in their own language.

The awesome grace of God is beyond words… He goes before the labor, brings those that can till the soil, brings those that can water the new seeds of faith But it is “His” mercy and love that brings forth fruit of Eternal life.
