Reflections from the Czech Short Term Team

I have heard many times about the Oasis that it is an amazing place where people from many different countries are coming to get practical help and find out more about the Christian faith. Definitely, it is true. Our Czech team came to the Oasis at the beginning of August and stayed for two weeks. We took part in regularly programs of the Oasis: distribution of clothes, kid’s programs, coffee bars, and women programs. Great advantage was that our team included people with musical skills and knowledge of Russian and Persian. We could more easily talk with Muslims from Afghanistan and Chechnya and share the love of Messiah with them. Sometimes we helped to find a good piece of clothes or played football with them, sometimes we made food together or listened to their stories. Moreover, we had many opportunities, through programs and personal meetings as well, to share the hope we had in our Lord. Everyday, there were people we talked and prayed with. We saw many touched by the love and word of our God. Some received healing, some heard and answered on Lord’s calling, some did find deeper instruction in a newly chosen way. Thanks God for his abundant grace!
